Our Story
I started HeadStart MCAT Prep to continue my passion for education and teaching. I have held a number of tutoring and advisor positions before and these are some of my most valuable experiences. I wanted to create a program that would help students prepare for the MCAT examination. I draw on my own experiences to create customized MCAT programs and effective personal MCAT tutoring sessions.
I am currently a student at the University of Michigan studying Neuroscience. I took the MCAT in the summer of 2019 and scored in the 99th percentile.
Credentials
As mentioned above, I have multiple years of tutoring and teaching experience at the University of Michigan. I have worked hundreds of hours in the both the Department of Athletics and the Department of Chemistry. In addition to this experience and my 99th percentile score, I have earned top grades at the University of Michigan in all the pre-medical courses– including organic chemistry, physical chemistry, biology, biochemistry, and physics. Furthermore, I have completed and excelled in additional courses in Electronic Circuits and Optics which are known to be the most difficult topics of Physics 2 on the MCAT. During the summer, I studied nearly 700 hours for this exam, while working another 30 hours a week as a researcher and TA. I have refined my time management skills since then to not only make the most out of limited time but also to find time for my clients to pursue other interests. I believe that the MCAT should not take up your entire summer or semester. There definitely is time during studying to enjoy life and still earn a top score.
